The Malvani Fish Curry is a traditional fish curry that is from Maharashtra’s western coastal region in India. My version of this recipe has Kokum and coconut milk as basic ingredients along with other spice powders. Kokum is added to give a souring element into the curry and coconut milk is added for richness. I have used Surmai Fish for this curry, but you can you any fish you like for this dish. Typically, Ravas or Surmai Fish is used to cook this dish. You can serve this Fish curry along with steamed rice, a fried pomfret fish, some sliced onions and pickle. Please look at my video for detailed recipe of this dish.
