The legendary Dorabjee’s Restaurant, situated on a parallel lane of M.G. Road Pune, is a place must to visit for authentic parsi cuisine in Pune. It had started in the year 1878. The legacy goes on. I had ordered Farcha (Chicken) which was covered with egg and deep fried, Chicken cutlet, Mutton Salli, Mutton Biryani with Arab spices, Chapattis, my favourite Kheema Pav, and for desert there was Custard. All that we had was just fabulous in taste and authentic. And the bill was only Rs. 1038/- for four.
The interiors are maintained as its originals. What I also liked is the quick service. Its open from 9.30 am to 10.30 pm and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In 1940’s their dishes were costing in “ANNAS”. The menu card from 1940’s were displayed at the entrance and I was amazed.
I am going to try cooking their best Kheema Pav, the parsi way.
If you are from Pune or in case you ever visit Pune, be sure not the miss this Legendary Restaurant.
