In my quest for cooking, I cooked Mutton Chop, punjabi style with thick gravy.  It turned out to be delicious. You should try this at home.  Its simple to cook and delicious in taste. This dish is eaten with Roti/Naan/Paratha or Jeera Rice.

RECIPE:

For One Kg of Chops you need-

Ingredients :

4 medium sized onions.

3 medium sized tomato.

2 green chilli’s.

2 inch ginger.

12 to 15 cloves if garlic.

Coriander leaves.

Cummin seeds 1 tsp.

Turmeric powder half tsp.

Garam masala powder 1 tsp.

Red chilli powder 2 tsp.

Dry whole masalas-8 black pepper, 1 inch cinnamon stick, 4 cloves, 4 small green cardimon, 1 black cardimon, 2 star anees, 2 javetri.

75 ml cooking oil or pure ghee.

150 grams beaten curd.

1 lime juice.

Salt to taste.

Method :

Grind ginger garlic green chilli together.

Grind onion.

Grind tomato.

Clean chops with water.

Marinate chops with ginger garlic chilli paste, half tbs salt, little turmeric powder, lime juice.

Marinate for at least one hour in fridge.

Add oil/ghee to pan.

Add Cummin seeds after oil is hot.

Add onion paste and fry it until golden brown.

Add tomato paste and fry until tomato is cooked.

Add red chilli powder, salt, coriander powder and cook the masala. Dont allow it to burn. Keep stiring. Add little water to deglaze the pan avoid burning of masala.

On another pan add little oil / ghee and roast the chops on both sides.

Once done add all roasted chops to the masalas in the other pan.

Mix well.

Slow down the heat and let it cook for 8 to 10 minutes.

Add curd slowly and keep mixing.

Let it cook until chops are cooked and tender.

Add little water if required.

Once done add garam masala and coriander leaves.

Serve hot.

Ready to eat the Chop. Enjoy eating.
